So first time in paliomylos, the olive harvest is upon us ! for the last month and a bit, and for the next one and a half, olives fill our days. Started with the green, then kalamata, black and finally we ll pick the ones for olive oil.
Tatiana brought some wheat seed to multiply, so we got some other varieties of grains and made a grain field to plant them, too small to make are annual bread but at least having more seed to plant in a larger field in the future.
The garden is doing great, still providing all the salad we can eat, even in the transition period, after summer.
Also food preservation is becoming a routine and we are learning a lot on the way, apple, berry jams, pepper sauce, pesto and carob syrup are some of the things cooking this last month. This is also a great year for mushrooms, up in the mountain and also in the olive grove.
you ll get some more olive photos and news next month. till then some nice photos from the past month
